Project Manager – Municipal Drinking Water
Location: Denver, CO (On-site/field)

Pay Range: $140,000-$225,000
Description:
In this role, you will lead some of the industry’s best engineers while executing highly technical, complex projects including drinking water treatment facility, pump station, and water storage tank design/construction.
Responsibilities:
- Share ideas and boldly explore technical solutions and thought leadership.
- Bring outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills to lead project teams through challenging requirements and overlapping schedules.
- Be excited to coach and mentor other engineers to shape the leaders of tomorrow.
- Understand and apply conventional and advanced treatment technologies to solve complex water quality challenges for clients in Colorado and the western states.
- Provide leadership and guidance through all aspects of engineering projects from concept to completion, including overall safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, permitting, project controls, and public/community relations.
- Collaborate and coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams to provide deliverables and services that meet internal QA/QC requirements and client expectations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout each project, building a relationship as a trusted partner as the project progresses.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and plan for the financial success of your projects.
- Plan, organize, and communicate project personnel needs to department management.
- Communicate project progress, cost and schedule metrics, design questions, and project challenges requiring additional support to department management.
- Provide performance feedback for project team members as appropriate.
- Work to proactively identify upcoming projects and opportunities; utilize business development skills to lead proposals, win new projects, and increase existing client base.
- Leverage existing client relationships and focus on repeat work within each client account.
- Manage the review, negotiation, approval, and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
- Be visible in the regional water and wastewater marketplace through leadership and participation in professional organizations.
- Provide guidance and industry feedback or trends to the water leadership team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program required.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience (10 years preferred) in design engineering, including 3 or more years of experience managing engineering projects. Completion of a master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
- Previous consulting experience preferred.
- Professional Registration preferred.
- Demonstrated success in project management strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
- Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
- Ability to influence, lead and manage change thoughtfully and positively strongly desired.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, ability to work overtime on short notice.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others (owners, contractors, engineers, designers) in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
- Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software
