A manufacturer and installer of industrial spiral and tunnel freezer systems serving food manufacturers and processors across multiple markets. The company provides freezing solutions designed to improve operational efficiency, product quality, and production capacity.
Position Summary
This role is responsible for selling capital equipment, specifically large industrial freezer systems, to food manufacturers across the Southeast. The Regional Sales Representative will receive inbound leads and manage an existing book of business, serving as the primary point of contact for customers looking to expand or improve their freezing operations.
Approximately 65% of the role focuses on growing existing accounts and converting inbound leads while maintaining strong relationships through regular client meetings, on-site visits, and facility tours. The remaining 35% focuses on new business development, including generating new leads through cold calls and networking events.
The representative assesses customer needs, prepares quotes and proposals, and guides customers through the buying process while coordinating with internal engineering, project management, and production teams. The role also includes tracking activity in a CRM and meeting assigned sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage food manufacturing facilities and processing plants
- Build relationships with plant leadership and purchasing decision-makers
- Assess customer needs related to freezing capacity and production requirements
- Recommend appropriate industrial freezer solutions
- Prepare quotes and proposals and guide customers through the buying process
- Coordinate with internal engineering, project management, and production teams
- Track leads, opportunities, and customer interactions in a CRM system
- Travel to customer sites and job locations as needed
- Close sales and meet performance targets
Qualifications
- High school diploma (minimum)
- 10–15 years of sales experience
- Experience in B2B or capital equipment sales (food processing equipment preferred)
- Familiarity with food manufacturing or industrial processing environments
- Strong communication, negotiation, and technical sales skills
- Ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple opportunities
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with standard business software and CRM tools
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
