Structural Tekla Designer
Location: Salt Lake City, UT or Billings, MT or Anchorage, AK

Pay Range: $50.00 /hr. – $65.00 /hr.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience
- Background in petrochemical/heavy industrial industry
- Familiarity with structural steel, civil, concrete, and earthwork design
- Excellent supervisory/leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead a small team of designers
- Experience with AutoCAD computer design/drafting software
- Experience with Tekla Structures 3D modeling/drafting software
- Experience with Civil 3D, Navisworks, MS Word, and MS Excel
- Experience with using laser scan and point cloud data
- Familiarity with AISC, IBC, ACI codes and OSHA requirements
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Willingness and ability to travel on short duration assignments
- Willingness to work occasional overtime as required
- Proficient with computerized project management and reporting tools
- Detailed understanding of typical refinery project front end loading and detailed design phase engineering
Responsibilities
- Manage the workload for a team of civil/structural designers on multiple projects and delegate tasks to design team
- Work with civil/structural engineer to identify and define project scope and deliverables
- Develop civil/structural manhour estimates and MTOs
- Track project progress and ensure designer work meets budget and scope requirements
- Work with civil/structural engineer to produce project deliverables
- Produce detailed engineering drawings directly from 3D Tekla models as well as traditional 2D drawing production methods using AutoCAD
- Ensure civil/structural design meets local, client and industry standards
- Analyze point cloud, survey data, maps, drawings, aerial photography, topographical and geotechnical data for project planning and execution purposes
- Perform periodic field visits to project sites to obtain information and verify existing field conditions
- Interact with client project teams and other disciplines to develop and support project requirements
- Review vendor documents for civil/structural design development
- Review fabrication drawings to ensure compliance with civil/structural design drawings
- Learn and comply with client's Project Services Quality System
