Summary
Seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join a growing Geotechnical division focused on specialized foundation and structural support projects. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position responsible for managing geotechnical projects from planning and estimating through field execution and completion.
The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical construction, foundation work, or heavy civil construction and a strong understanding of how projects are executed in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Manage geotechnical and foundation projects from initial planning through completion.
- Projects entail micropiling, deep foundations, foundation drilling and large foundation systems supporting highway signage, electronic signage, retaining walls, and other civil and industrial structures
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Coordinate field crews, equipment, subcontractors, materials, schedules, and project resources.
- Provide hands-on oversight of geotechnical and foundation installation activities.
- Review project plans, specifications, site conditions, and geotechnical requirements.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, costs, change orders, and overall project performance.
- Coordinate with engineering teams and customers to ensure projects meet design and performance requirements.
- Monitor field progress and address construction issues as they arise.
- Assist with project estimating, proposals, planning, and execution strategies.
- Maintain strong customer relationships and communicate project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Travel to project sites as needed to provide field and customer support.
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years’ experience in geotechnical construction, foundation construction, heavy civil construction, or a closely related field.
- Strong hands-on understanding of geotechnical work, foundations, deep foundations, or micropiling.
- Experience managing construction or geotechnical projects from a field perspective.
- Experience with large foundation systems, retaining walls, highway structures, signage foundations, or similar civil infrastructure is desirable.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, project specifications, site conditions, and construction requirements.
- Comfortable working both in the field and with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Willingness to be hands-on and actively involved in project execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Engineering. Experience in and progressed through the construction or geotechnical field with developed strong project management capabilities in lieu of degree
