Business Initiatives Manager 
Kansas City, MO (On-site)

Pay Range: $47.50 – $60.50

Description: The Business Initiatives (BI) Manager is responsible for managing cross-functional initiatives between business units and corporate services to drive completion of company initiatives. The BI Manager will manage teams of internal owners and stakeholders to scope, plan, manage, train, communicate and ultimately complete major enterprise initiatives. The BI Manager requires a hands-on delivery leader who will lead initiatives to move from the current state to the desired future state while engaging leaders, processes, tasks, roles, tools, data, integrations, and insights. This position will assess the business and operational implications at each stage and monitor progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives from initiation through transition, managing scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, and issues
  • Develop actionable initiative plans, milestones, and deliverables aligned to business objectives
  • Actively drive execution in early phases, including facilitating working sessions, resolving blockers, and coordinating owners
  • Adapt delivery approaches based on initiative complexity while maintaining alignment with governance standards
  • Partner with leaders and business stakeholders to align priorities and expectations
  • Assemble and manage cross functional initiative teams, including internal owners and external partners as applicable
  • Communicate initiative status, risks, and forecasted outcomes to stakeholders and leadership
  • Influence without direct authority and secure commitments from teams with competing priorities
  • Follow internal processes, templates, and tools, applying judgment to balance governance with delivery realities
  • Maintain initiative documentation, including plans, status reporting, risks/issues, and transition artifacts
  • Track and report initiative performance, milestones, and outcomes to support leadership decision making
  • Identify gaps in processes, tools, or ownership and proactively recommend practical solutions to maintain progress
  • Partner with communications, training, and change management resources to support the successful adoption of initiative outcomes
  • Assess stakeholder readiness and coordinate training or enablement activities as needed
  • Support transition of completed initiatives into steady state ownership
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, organization development, social sciences, or related field. and 8 years of related professional experience; Required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. 
  • Expert computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). 
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
