Project Manager

Salary: $105,000 – $130,000 per year

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in geotechnical, civil, or construction work to oversee projects from initial planning through execution. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet quality and client expectations.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Proposal Preparation

  • Identify new opportunities and coordinate with management on strategy

  • Help identify new markets, clients, and technologies while building strong client relationships

  • Assemble proposals including risk assessment, estimating, engineering, technical writing, site visits, and client Q&A

  • Negotiate contracts and ensure understanding of contract requirements

  • Coordinate with pre-construction teams when applicable

Risk Management

  • Understand and comply with company risk management policies and procedures

  • Recognize major risks and take measures to mitigate them

Initial Planning

  • Manage designs, submittals, material ordering, pre-job planning, and scheduling

  • Plan pre-project meetings with relevant stakeholders

  • Develop project strategies with the team to maximize profitability

Project Execution

  • Build and lead effective project-based teams

  • Ensure work meets specifications, schedules, and budgets

  • Identify and address challenges and opportunities to maximize profitability

Change Management

  • Identify, track, and address project changes; escalate as necessary

Financial Management

  • Approve and monitor weekly and monthly financial reports, forecasts, and budgets

  • Manage accounts receivable collections

Safety & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and regulations

  • Resolve quality nonconformance issues and exercise stop work authority when needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred

  • 5–10 years of geotechnical, construction, or industry-related experience preferred

  • Comprehensive experience overseeing projects from initial planning through execution, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in assembling proposals, including:

    • Risk assessment

    • Estimating

    • Engineering

    • Technical writing

  • Proficient knowledge of Project Management & Scheduling Tools:

    • Microsoft Project – for project scheduling, tracking timelines, and resource allocation

    • Primavera P6 – used in larger construction projects for planning and scheduling

    • Procore, Buildertrend, or Viewpoint – construction management software for document control, RFIs, submittals, and daily logs
