Senior HVAC / Hydronics Mechanical Engineer (PE)
100% Remote
Contract to Direct

Seeking a highly experienced, hands-on HVAC / Hydronics Mechanical Engineer (PE) with deep expertise in heat transfer and full-system cooling design. This individual will lead the design of complex mechanical systems from central plant generation through distribution and end-use HVAC equipment across industrial and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design complete cooling systems including cooling towers, chiller plants, pumping systems, and terminal HVAC equipment.
  • Perform detailed heat transfer calculations, equipment sizing, and system optimization.
  • Size and specify cooling towers, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, pot feeders, filters, AHUs, DEHUs, RAHs, DOAS, RTUs and CRAH/CRAC units
  • Data center experience preferred
  • Perform pipe sizing and duct sizing calculations.
  • Develop material specifications and equipment selections.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE, SMACNA, IMC, and relevant building codes.
  • Coordinate with vendors and equipment manufacturers.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with NCEES record.
  • Ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.
  • Extensive experience in HVAC hydronic system design, chiller plants, and industrial ventilation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to independently design, size, and specify complete mechanical systems.
  • Dust collection system design experience is preferred
  • VOC abatement systems, including specification of thermal oxidizers is preferred
  • Experience working with dust collection vendors to design and implement collection systems.
